Prime Healthcare Foundation (PHF), a public nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity, announced today that Central Maine Healthcare (CMH) has officially joined its national, award-winning health system, expanding the Foundation’s footprint to 21 hospitals nationwide and its mission to the communities of Maine. With the closing of the transaction, PHF becomes the sole corporate member and parent organization of CMH.

The Prime Healthcare Foundation (PHF), one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health systems, has received a credit rating upgrade from Fitch Ratings to A- from BBB+ for both its Issuer Default Rating and Revenue Bond Credit, with a Stable Outlook. This marks the third credit upgrade by Fitch in the past four years, underscoring the Foundation’s strong financial stewardship, expanding footprint, and continued investment in clinical quality.

The Prime Healthcare Foundation and the Central Maine Healthcare (CMH) Board of Directors announced they have reached an agreement for Prime Healthcare Foundation to become the sole corporate member and parent company of Central Maine Healthcare.

This month, graduates received their Doctor of Medicine degrees and Master in Biomedical Sciences degrees at California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM). The 2023 Commencement ceremonies symbolized the culmination of their educational journey, characterized by a remarkable 100 percent residency match at some of the top programs in the country. Furthermore, over 33 percent of the class will continue their residencies in the Inland Empire.

College Health Enterprises and the Prime Healthcare Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, are completing the sale of Glendora Oaks Behavioral Health Hospital after receiving conditional approval by the California State Attorney General.
